Our Policy for Handling of Personal Information
FDI Center (www.fdiservice.com) formulated the following policies in order to protect our users’ personal information and rights and interests under the Personal Information Protection Act and smoothly handle our users’ difficulties related to personal information.
FDI Center will make a public announcement in the website (or serve individual notices) in case of amending the policy for handling of personal information.
○ Our policies will be in effect from January 1, 2016.

1. 1. Purpose of handling of personal information
FDI Center handles and processes personal information for the following purposes. Processed personal information will not be used for any purposes other than the followings; where there is a change to the purpose of usage, we intend to obtain your prior consent.
A. Website member subscription and management
  - We handle and process personal information for the purposes of prevention of unfair use of service, various notifications, handling of problems, and preservation of record for dispute resolution, etc.
B. Handling of complaints
  - We handle and process personal information for the purposes of confirmation of complaints, notification and contact for verification of facts, and notification of handling outcome.
C. Provision of goods or services
  - We handle and process personal information for the purposes of provision of service, sending of bills, provision of contents, and provision of tailored services, etc.
D. Use for marketing and advertisements
- We handle and process personal information for the purpose of verification of validity of service, etc.

2. Current status of personal information file
1. Names of personal information file: FDI Center service information
- personal information items: email, mobile phone number, name, company phone number, position, department, name of company, records of service use, and service-related information
- method of collection: website, email, phone, fax, and written document;
- basis of possession: consent of clients and relevant laws
- possession period: six months to five years
- Relevant laws: records for collection, handling, and use of credit information: 3 years, records for customers’ complaint or dispute processing: 3 years, records for payment and supply of goods, etc.: 5 years, records for contract or withdrawal of subscription: 5 years, records for labeling and advertising: 6 months

3. Handling and possession period of personal information
① FDI Center handles and possesses personal information within the period of possession and use of personal information for which it attained the information principals’ consents at the time of collection of personal information or the period of possession and use of personal information under laws and regulations.
② Each period of handling and possession of personal information is as follows.
1. Provision of goods or services.
Personal information related to the provision of goods or services shall be possessed and used for the foregoing purpose between 6 months and 3 years from the date of consent about the collection and use.
- Basis of possession: client’s consent and relevant laws.
- Relevant laws :
1) records for collection, handling, and use of credit information: 3 years,
2) records for customers’ complaint or dispute processing: 3 years,
3) records for payment and supply of goods, etc.: 5 years,
4) records for contract or withdrawal of subscription: 5 years,
5) records for labeling and advertising: 6 months

- Grounds of exception: client’s request

4. Matters concerning third party provision of personal information.
① FDI Center provides personal information to third parties only in cases of information principals’ consent or special provisions in law such as those falling under Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
② FDI Center provides the following personal information to third parties.

- Recipient’s purpose of use of personal information: email, mobile phone number, name, company name, record of service use, and other information necessary for the processing of requested tasks
- Period of possession and use by the recipient: at the end of requested task

- Recipient’s purpose of use of personal information: email, mobile phone number, name, company name, record of service use, and other information necessary for the processing of requested tasks
- Period of possession and use by the recipient: at the end of requested task

- Recipient of personal information: Gukje Certified Labor Attorney
- Recipient’s purpose of use of personal information: email, mobile phone number, name, company name, record of service use, and other information necessary for the processing of requested tasks
- Period of possession and use by the recipient: at the end of requested task

5. Information principal’s rights, duties, and exercise methods. Users, as the principals of personal information, can exercise the following rights.
① FDI Center can exercise the following rights related to the protection of personal information at any time against FDI Center.
1. Request for access and perusal of personal information.
2. Request for correction in case there are errors, etc.
3. Request for deletion.
4. Request for suspension of handling.
(1) The exercise of rights against FDI Center under section
(2) can be made in writing, email, or fax, etc. pursuant to the template form in Annex 8 of the Enforcement Regulation of the Personal Information Protection Act; FDI Center will take the necessary measure without delay.
(3) Where the information principal requests for correction or deletion in relation to error in personal information, etc., FDI Center shall neither use nor provide the relevant personal information until the completion of correction or deletion.
(4) The exercise of rights under section (1) can be made via the information principal’s legal counsel or delegated person. In such case, a power of attorney pursuant to the template form in Annex 11 of the Enforcement Regulation of the Personal Information Protection Act needs to be submitted.

6. Preparation of personal information items to be processed / handled
① (1) FDI Center are handling and processing the following personal information items.
For the purpose of provision of goods or services, emails, mobile phone number, name, company phone number, position, department, company name, record of service use, all other information necessary for processing of requested task, and cookies (for the purpose of confirmation of website activities and number of connecting users)

7. Destruction of personal information
FDI Center in principle destroys the relevant personal information without any delay once the handling and processing purpose of personal information is achieved. The procedure, period, and method of destruction are as follows.
- Destruction procedure: information inputted by users are transferred to a separate DB after the achievement of purpose (a separate file in case of papers) and they are destroyed after storage for a certain period under the internal guidelines and relevant laws or immediately afterwards. In such case, personal information transferred to a separate DB are not used for any other purposes unless pursuant to law.
- Destruction period: in case the possession period of user’s personal information has passed, the relevant personal information is destroyed within 5 days from the date of termination of possession period; in case the purpose of handling and processing of personal information is achieved, the relevant service is terminated, the business is closed or for any other reasons in which the relevant personal information became unnecessary, the relevant personal information is destroyed within 5 days from the date of recognition that the handling and processing of such personal information is unnecessary.
- Destruction method: information in the form of electronic file will be destroyed via technological methods by which regeneration is not feasible. Personal information printed on papers is destroyed by shredders or incineration. 8. Measures to secure security of personal information
FDI Center adopts the following technological / managerial and physical measures to secure the necessary security under Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
Implementation of regular self-audit.
FDI Center conducts its own self-audit regularly (once per every quarter) for the purpose of securing security in relation to the handling of personal information.
9. Person in charge of personal information protection
① FDI Center designated the following person as the person in charge of protection of personal information to take the overall responsibility for the tasks related to the handling of personal information as well as handling of complaints and remedies vis-à-vis information principals in relation to the processing of personal information.

② The principal of information may inquire about all queries and matters relating to complaints, and remedies related to the protection of personal information that occurred during the use of FDI Center’s service (or business) to the person in charge of personal information protection and the relevant department in charge. FDI Center will answer and process all inquiries of the principal of information without any delay.

10. Amendment to the policy of handling and processing of personal information
① This policy of handling and processing of personal information shall be applicable from the date of implementation. Where there are additions, deletions, and corrections pursuant to the relevant laws and policies, FDI Center will notify via the public notification matters 7 days prior to the implementation of amended matters.
